Our club recently hosted a First Aid training course delivered by Ultimate First Aid, providing participants with essential skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.
The program was designed to build both knowledge and practical confidence, covering a broad range of topics, including:
- Initial response and assessment of emergency situations
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
- Management of injuries such as cuts, neck & back injuries
- Recognition and response to choking, recognising allergic reactions
- Best practice in addressing injuries and incidents that may occur in a sporting environment
A key strength of the course was its focus on practical application. Participants had the opportunity to practise techniques under expert guidance, ensuring that the skills gained were not only understood but also readily applicable in real-life scenarios.
Feedback from attendees highlighted the value of the training, with many reporting increased confidence in their ability to respond appropriately to medical emergencies either in a sports environment or at home.
We extend our sincere thanks to Ultimate First Aid for their providing the class and passing on their expertise, and to all participants and coaches who took part in the training. Initiatives such as this are an important part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment within the club and to stay inline with England Boxing requirements.
Further first aid training opportunities will be scheduled in the future at the club by Ultimate First Aid, and we encourage all members to take part.
They cover a wide range of first aid training so please see their website https://ultimatefirstaidtraining.co.uk/ if this is something you are interested in.
