I first found boxing aged 8 at the now famous champs camp in Moss side, Manchester and fell in love with the sport.
After a move to Newcastle -Under-Lyme in the early 1990’s, I trained at and boxed for various clubs including Orme ABC and Silverdale ABC.
After some time away from the sport I returned in 2006 to get fit again. This eventually lead to competing in and winning titles in the middle-weight division, in semi-professional / Professional contests under European sanctioning bodies and training alongside other professional boxers at the Fight Factory in Stoke-On-Trent. This is where I forged a friendship with South Cheshire ABC’s head coach Nathan Clarke. After my retirement from competition in 2014, I again took some time away from the sport and went to University as a mature student to study psychology.
In 2024, I decided to get back involved in boxing joining South Cheshire ABC, gaining my level 1 England Boxings certification.
I now hope to pass on my boxing experience and boxing knowledge, incorporating a psychological perspective to training and competing, to the next generation.
